Growing Gardens teaches gardening skills and builds organic gardens for our low income neighbors. At high poverty schools throughout Portland, we have in-class garden education programs, after school garden clubs, and summer garden camps. Growing Gardens also offers horticulture programs for inmates at Oregon’s adult and youth correctional facilities, which teach job skills and provide thousands of pounds of food annually for inmates and local food banks.
